DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (9-6-1) women's ice hockey team hosted one of the top teams in the country in No.4 Indiana Tech (17-3-0). However, the Warriors held off a late push from the Wolverines to take a 3-2 victory on Friday (Jan.6) inside the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.

The Warriors struck first in the first period on a short-handed goal after intercepting a pass in their defensive zone and broke out down the right wing on an odd-man rush. Tech found Michelle Borland in front of the net and buried the open chance after beating Victoria Hahn (2-6-1) in a one-on-one opportunity.

The Wolverines were the next to score as Madison Shroeder buried the open look after receiving a puck off a rebound after a scrum in front of the net. Samantha Sensoli and Cadence Pero assisted the goal.

Tech broke the game open in the third period after scoring two unanswered goals to make it 3-1. The Wolverines got one back on the powerplay when Vivian Kowalske scored the unassisted goal with 32 seconds remaining in the game.
