Newcomers Shine, Wolverines Win 11-1

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn Women's Ice Hockey team opened up the 2022-23 season Saturday night against the Davenport University Panthers at the Patterson Ice Center in Grand Rapids, Mich. 

The Wolverines saw eight newcomers record the first points of their college careers in an 11-1 route of Davenport University. Leading the way for UM-Dearborn was the trio of Andi Evers (2G), Samantha Sensoli (2G, 2A), and Madison Schroeder (1G, 1A), while Kaylee Keledjian would add two goals of her own. Zoe Zaifman, Ashley Savage, and Charlise Wharram would all each score their first career goals, while captain Lexi Garbacik would chip in with a goal as well. 

Tara Peladeau would get the win in goal for the Wolverines, making five saves on the night.

UM-Dearborn returns to action with a road trip to Penn State Friday, October 7th, and Saturday, October 8th followed by the home-opener against Adrian College (D2)  at 7 PM Friday, October 14th at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
