Cornerstone uses big second half to pull away from Wolverines

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team returned to action against the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles Wednesday night in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The two clubs found themselves tied after the first half, however the Golden Eagles would shoot over 60 percent as a team from the field, handing the Wolverines a 96-75 defeat.

The loss moves UM-Dearborn to 3-24 overall and 1-15 in the WHAC.

The Wolverines were led by Maurice Anderson with 21 points in the game, with 19 coming in the second half. Troy Campbell would add 14, while Jimmy Breaux and Elwood Tomlinson would chip in with eight points each.

Leading Cornerstone University was the trio of Christian Rodriguez with 21 points, while Johnny Strube and Luke Rowlinson would add 18 points each.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against the Lourdes University Gray Wolves at 3 PM Saturday in Sylvania, Ohio.
