First half deficit too much to overcome for the Wolverines, fall to LTU

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team returned to action against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils on Monday night in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup in Southfield, Mich.

The Wolverines found themselves in a big hole early against the Blue Devils, down by 26 points at the half. While LTU cooled down in the second half, UM-Dearborn could not overcome the early lead, falling to the Blue Devils 72-47.

Leading the way for the Wolverines was Jason Gigliotti, finishing the game with a team-high 16 points while adding nine rebounds. The last basketball made by Gigliotti in the game pushed him over the 1,000 point mark for his career at UM-Dearborn. The Wolverines also received contributions from Maurice Anderson and Vyshonn Munson, finishing with nine points and seven points, respectively. 

Leading the Blue Devils was Brandon Beavers, who finished with a game-high 18 points while adding nine assists and three steals. 

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 3-14 overall and 1-8 on the season. 

The Wolverines return to action against the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles at 7:30 pm Wednesday at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Mich.
