Livonia, Mich. – The Siena Heights University Saints knocked off the host UM-Dearborn Wolverines in a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Saturday played at the PAAAC on the campus of Madonna University.  The Saints used solid free throw shooting in the first half to build a 13 point lead at the break.  Siena Heights went 14-18 from the free throw line in the first half while UM-Dearborn went 4-9 from the charity stripe in the first half as they trailed 41-28 at halftime.

In the second half, Siena Heights used a 12-0 run to take control of the game.  The Saints shot 58% in the second half as they built a 35 point lead.  The Wolverines would continue to play hard in the second half going on an 11-0 run late the game, but it was not enough as Siena Heights would go on to win 92-69.

The win was the first in WHAC play for the Saints as they are 1-5 in the WHAC and after the loss, the Wolverines are also 1-5 in the WHAC.  Sophomore Maurice Anderson led Michigan-Dearborn with 16 points and he also added nine rebounds.  Junior Elwood Tomlinson had 14 points while sophomore Ryan Len chipped in with 13 points.   The Wolverines shot 39% from the field and 15% from behind the three point line.  UM-Dearborn gets back into action Wednesday when they travel to Grace Christian in a non-conference game.
