Lattimer Leads UM-Dearborn All-WHAC Honorees

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team opens the 2019 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament at No. 1 seed Cornerstone University Thursday night in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The No. 8 seed Wolverines picked up WHAC postseason honors for three student-athletes, it was announced by the conference on Thursday.

Freshman Zach Lattimer was named to the All-WHAC Freshman Team after a standout first season with the Wolverines. The Mishawaka, Ind., native closed the regular season averaging 10.6 points per game, including 80 made 3-point shots and he shot 43 percent from deep. He totaled 318 points, playing in all 30 games for the Wolverines as a true freshman, starting 20.

Junior Jared Jackson was named to the All-WHAC Academic Team and the UM-Dearborn Champions of Character Team representative. Sophomore Mahdi Hamade, who holds a junior standing academically, was also named the All WHAC Academic Team.

The Wolverines enter the game against Cornerstone with a record of 11-19 overall. The teams split the season series with each team winning on its home floor.
