Wolverines rally for win over the Trailblazers

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team used a strong second half to defeat Ohio Christian University and snap its three-game losing streak Tuesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines outscored the Trailblazers by 19 points after the break on their way to a 68-56 victory. UM-Dearborn improves to 3-10 on the season.

The Wolverines took control early, gaining an 18-8 lead in the opening minutes. The Trailblazers countered with a 19-2 run and led 33-27 at the half.

Xavier Crofford led the Wolverine rally in the second half, scoring all 12 of his points after the break. Jalen Paul added all 10 of his points in the final 20 minutes as well.

Jason Gigliotti scored a team-high 15 points and added seven rebounds to lead the Wolverines offensively. Mafiaion Joyner narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.

UM-Dearborn shot 23-for-54 from the field, 8-for-29 from long range and 14-of-25 at the line.

The Trailblazers were led by Thomas Woods with 15 points and eight rebounds.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against Lourdes University in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup at 3 pm Saturday in Sylvania, Ohio.
