Kegley scores 31 in loss at Madonna

LIVONIA, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team returned to action in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference game against Madonna University Wednesday in Livonia, Mich.

After a 3-pointer from Cody Kegley put the Wolverines up 23-5 just under seven minutes into the game, the Crusaders took over, including going on a 24-2 run to cut the UM-Dearborn lead to two at the break. Madonna weathered a slow start to the second half and pulled away for the 89-74 victory.

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 4-13 overall and 2-6 in the WHAC.

Kegley hit six 3-pointers in the loss, finishing with a career-high 31 points on 9-of-19 shooting while adding six rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Zach Lattimer made four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points, while Reid Sellers added a career-high 12 points and five rebounds off the bench.

The Wolverines shot 25-of-66 from the field, 11-of-31 from deep and 13-of-17 from the line while totaling 17 assists and seven turnovers.

Joshua Reynolds led four double-digit scorers for Madonna with 21 points, while Jonathan Swift added 18 points off the bench.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against No. 13 Indiana Tech at 3 pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
