Late push sends Lourdes to win over Wolverines

SYLVANIA, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team dropped a tightly contested Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest at Lourdes University on Saturday in Sylvania, Ohio.

The Wolverines led by five with 1:17 left on the clock, but the Gray Wolves scored the game's final eight points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 23 seconds remaining to edge UM-Dearborn 65-63. The loss drops the Wolverines to 3-11 overall and 1-5 in the WHAC.

Mafiaion Joyner kept the Wolverines on pace with Lourdes throughout the game with 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting, while adding seven rebounds. Joyner was 5-of-5 from deep. Jason Gigliotti narrowly missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Xavier Crofford added 10 points.

UM-Dearborn shot 24-of-52 from the field, 7-of-18 from deep and 8-of-12 from the line.

Brett Lauf led Lourdes with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Clif Snow added 16 points.

UM-Dearborn steps out of conference play to host Spring Arbor University at 7:30 pm Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
