No. 1  Wildcats top Wolverines 93-74

MARION, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team closed play at the Caleb Dimmich Memorial Classic against the host school and No. 1 ranked Indiana Wesleyan University Saturday in Marion, Ind.

The Wolverines fell behind 25-4 to start the game and never recovered, as the Wildcats prevailed 93-74. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 1-2 on the season.

Freshman Ontario Burnett came off the bench to lead the Wolverines with 26 points on 12-of-14 shooting. Mathew Mignault and Cody Kegley each scored 13 points, while Mafiaion Joyner added nine points and 11 rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 28-of-66 from the field, 4-of-21 from deep and 14-of-21 from the line, while recording six assists and 14 turnovers.

All five Wildcat starters finished in double figures, led by Kyle Mangas with 25, including four 3-pointers. IWU won the rebounding battle 37-31.

UM-Dearborn returns to Indiana for a matchup with No. 14 University of Saint Francis at 7:30 pm Tuesday in Fort Wayne, Ind.
