Crofford pushes UM-Dearborn to Senior Day win

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team closed the 2018-19 regular season with a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win over Aquinas College on Senior Day at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

Juwan Harper, Mafiaion Joyner and Xavier Crofford were honored in a pregame Senior Day ceremony.

The Wolverines closed the first half on a 22-5 run to take control of the game and cruised to a 73-51 win. The victory pushes UM-Dearborn to 11-19 overall and 8-12 in the WHAC, while securing a WHAC Postseason Tournament spot for the Wolverines.

Pairings for the WHAC Postseason Tournament will be released following a makeup game between Aquinas and Lawrence Tech on Monday.

Crofford led the Wolverine offense in his final home game for UM-Dearborn. He finished with 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting while adding five rebounds and four steals.

Jalen Paul recorded 13 points, including three 3-pointers, while Joyner added 10 points. Jason Gigliotti narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.

The Wolverines shot 24-of-57 from the field, 6-of-16 from deep and 19-of-26 from the line.

The Saints were led by Deric Murray with 18 points.

The Wolverines will be on the road in the WHAC Postseason Tournament First Round. The opponent, time and location will be determined when the league releases the pairings following Monday night's game.
