Wolverines Sweep WHAC Weekly Awards

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team swept the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference weekly awards after Sydney Eggleton, Kenzie Mertz, and Regan Rose were honored with awards. The league announced on Monday (Oct. 24).

 

Sydney Eggleton was named Attacker of the Week after she put down 53 kills with a season-high of 25 against Rochester on Friday (Oct. 21). The Southfield, Mich. native leads the Wolverines with 301 kills and averages over three kills a set.

 

Kenzie Mertz was named Defender of the week after she amassed 69 digs as the Wolverine libero. The Macomb, Mich. native has totaled 473 digs and averages just under five digs a set. Mertz currently sits in third in the conference in total digs. 

 

Regan Rose took the final award as she was named Setter of the Week. The Junior from Decatur, Mich., totaled 125 assists on the week en route to a 3-0 week for the Maize & Blue. Rose averages 9.3 assists per set, which puts her third in the conference. 

 

The Wolverine volleyball team travels to Aquinas on Wednesday (Oct. 26). First serve is at 7 p.m.
