Wolverines Sweep Cardinals 3-0

LIVONIA, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (12-13, 8-6) volleyball team swept the Concordia (MI) Cardinals (10-16, 5-9) in a tight-knit affair on Wednesday (Oct. 19) at Livonia Stevenson High School.

 

Sydney Eggleton led the Wolverines with 16 kills on a .350 kill percentage. Kielee Tondryk chipped in 13 kills as she approaches her 500-kill milestone. Regan Sliwinski and Brooke Wetherill chipped in nine and seven kills, respectively. Kenzie Mertz led the contest with 23 digs, while Regan Rose added 37 assists and nine digs. 

 

The Cardinals proved to be a worthy competitor as they led in all three sets. The Wolverines needed extra points to put away the Cardinals in the first and third sets. The Maize & Blue came back from a 16-11 deficit in the third set to come back and tie up the set at 24 a piece before taking the final two points and the match. 

 

Up Next

The Wolverines travel to Rochester Hills on Friday (Oct. 21) to take on the Rochester Warriors at 7 pm.
