17 Aces Help Wolverines Shut Down Racers

LIMA, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (11-12,7-5) volleyball team utilized 17 aces to help them defeat the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers (10-14, 3-9) on Friday (Oct. 14). 

 

Sydney Eggleton led the match with 20.5 points and 16 digs. Eggleton added 14 kills, five aces, and a pair of blocks. Brooke Wetherill was the second Wolverine with double-digit points as she led the contest with seven block assists. Wetherill put down eight kills on 20 swings to give her 11.5 points. Kielee Tondryk chipped in eight kills, Regan Rose distributed 32 assists and Kenzie Mertz added 18 digs to lead the Wolverines. 

 

The Maize and Blue looked to be in control of the match, winning the first two sets 25-17 and 25-16. However, the Racers climbed back in the third set and snuck out a 25-23 win. The Wolverines flipped the scoreline in the fourth and final set, winning 25-23. 

 

Up Next

The Maize & Blue are back in action on Saturday (Oct. 15) against top foe Indiana Tech. First serve is set for 1 pm in Indiana.
