Wolverines close 2019 with sweep of Warriors

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team closed the 2019 season with a three-set win over Rochester University on Senior Day Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines held on in a close first set before cruising in the final two sets for a 3-0 win. The set scores were 25-23, 25-18, 25-16. The win closes the season for the Wolverines with a record of 5-24 overall and 4-16 in the WHAC.

In a ceremony following the match, UM-Dearborn volleyball honored the careers of seniors Bronte Michura and Daniella Barile, who played in their final match for the Wolverines.

Gina Giacomini led the UM-Dearborn offense with 13 kills, while Michura added 12 and .500 hitting percentage. Regan Sliwinski was strong on both sides of the net with 12 kills and three total blocks, while Barile added a team-high 24 assists.

Sabrina Giacomini finished with 23 assists, while Mallory Lynch and Delaney Smith recorded 17 and 14 digs, respectively.

The Warriors were led by Jaelynn Block and Stephanie Bradley with seven kills each.
