UNOH defeats UM-Dearborn in three

LIMA, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team dropped a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest to the University of Northwestern Ohio Saturday in Lima, Ohio.

After dropping the first set, UM-Dearborn led 20-16 in the second before UNOH rallied to take the frame. The Racers went on to earn the sweep 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 to drop the Wolverines to 3-22 overall and 2-14 in the WHAC.

UM-Dearborn was led by 11 kills from Gina Giacomini, while Mackenzie Zook added 10. Daniella Barile recorded a team-high 17 assists and Sabrina Giacomini added 15. The defense was led by Libero Mallory Lynch with 13 digs.

Devon Heitkamp finished with a game-high 15 kills to lead the Racers, while Kayleigh Hulst added 42 assists.

The Wolverines close the 2019 regular season with four straight at home, starting against Cornerstone University at 7 pm Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
