UM-Dearborn falls to Lourdes in three

SYLVANIA, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team continued play in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference with a road trip to Lourdes University Friday in Sylvania, Ohio.

After Lourdes took the first two sets, the Wolverines battled to keep the third close but fell in three, 25-17, 25-19, 25-23. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 2-10 overall and 1-2 in the WHAC.  

Gina Giacomini led the Wolverines with nine kills, while Mackenzie Zook added seven in her second match this season.

After four total blocks in a win over Siena Heights University on Wednesday, Regan Sliwinski added five total blocks in the loss to the Gray Wolves. Sabrina Giacomini recorded 12 assists and three total blocks, while Daniella Barile added 11 assists and 12 digs. Mallory Lynch finished with a team-high 13 digs in the match.

The Wolverines have a short turnaround as they welcome Madonna University at 1 pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
