Warriors hold off Wolverines in four

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team fell to Rochester University in four sets in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Wednesday in Rochester Hills, Mich.

After dropping the first set, UM-Dearborn battled back to even the match at 1-1, but the Warriors recovered and closed it out in four. The set scores were 25-22, 24-26, 26-24, 25-13.

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 3-16 overall and 2-8 in the WHAC.

Gina Giacomini led the Wolverine offense with 18 kills, while Regan Sliwinski finished with nine kills and four total blocks. Sabrina Giacomini had a double-double with 21 assists and 12 digs, while reigning WHAC Defensive Player of the Week Mallory Lynch added 20 digs.

The Wolverines are off for a week before beginning the second half of the WHAC schedule against Lawrence Tech at 7 pm next Wednesday in Southfield, Mich.
