Wolverines Overpowered by No. 8 Marian

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (2-10) women's basketball team faced off against top-ranked Marion University (10-1). The Knights came into the contest ranked No. 8 in the country and proved to hold that ranking by beating the Wolverines 68-49 on Wednesday (Dec. 7) at Henry Ford College. 

 

UM-Dearborn Leaders

Siena Smith led the way with 12 points and hauled in four rebounds to go with her two assists. Matalina Ochoa poured in 10 points and hauled in seven boards in 26 minutes of action. Lily Miller rounded out the Wolverines in double figures as she scored 10 points and ripped down six rebounds. 

 

Marian Leaders

Ella Collier led Knights with a game-high 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Collier connected on three of her seven three-point attempts and drilled all five of her free-throws. Aliyah Evans was dominant in the post scoring 18 points on 9-of-18 from the floor. Evans ripped down seven rebound to go with three steals. Allison Bosse was the only other Knight in double figures as she scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting.

The Wolverines travel to Grand Rapids on Saturday (Dec.10) to take on Aquinas at 1 pm.
