Smith Scores 19 Against No. 21 Indiana Tech

DETROIT, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (2-9, 1-6) women's basketball team faced off against No. 21 Indiana Tech (10-2, 5-1) on Saturday (Dec. 3). Siena Smith led the Wolverines with 19 points and hauled in eight rebounds at the Matthaei Center at Wayne State University. Indiana Tech took the contest 89-68.

 

Michigan-Dearborn Leaders

Smith shot 8-of-14 from the field and 3-of-6 from behind the arc to lead the Maize and Blue. Dearborn shot 46.7% from the field (28-60) and 46.7 from the three-point line (7-15). India Grissom was the only other Wolverine in double-digits scoring 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting. 

 

Indiana Tech Leaders

The Warriors shot 61% from the field connecting on 36 of their 59 attempts. Kyra Whitaker had a game-high 26 points to lead the Warriors. Whitaker shot 9-of-16 from the floor and 5-of-8 from behind the arc. Genevieve Decker poured in 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting and added five rebounds. Erika Foy and Taylor Covington rounded out the scoring with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Covington chipped in six assists, while Juliana Burris had a game-high seven rebounds.
