Grissom Nets 18 in Road Loss at Cornerstone

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – India Grissom led the University of Michigan-Dearborn (6-16, 3-12) women's basketball team with 18 points on Wednesday (Feb. 1). Grissom drained 8-of-10 free throws and was 5-8 from the field despite the Wolverines losing 80-58 to the Cornerstone Golden Eagles (12-11, 11-5) on the road. 

 

UM-Dearborn Leaders

Grissom had a team-high 18 points and had a pair of rebounds and assists. Siena Smith was the only other Wolverine in double figures with 13 points. Dearborn brought down 11 offensive rebounds in the contest and outrebounded the Golden Eagles 30-26. 

 

Cornerstone Leaders

Kennedy Helderop led the Golden Eagles with a game-high 22 points on 10-13 shooting from the charity stripe. Helderop hauled in eight rebounds and four assists to her final line. Olvia Kubik scored 16 points off the bench shooting 5-16 from the field and connecting on four triples. Stephanie Ainsworth and Mackenzie Stein rounded out the scoring for Cornerstone with 14 and 10 points, respectively. The Golden Eagles forced Dearborn to turn the ball over 31 times while committing only 16 turnovers.
