SYLVANIA, OHIO– The University of Michigan-Dearborn (1-5, 0-2) women's basketball team dropped a conference matchup on the road at the Ebeid Rec Center on Saturday (Nov. 12). India Grissom scored a career-high 19 points in the 91-86 loss against Lourdes (3-2, 1-1).

UM-Dearborn Leaders

Grissom tied for a game-high 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting. Abby Fullerton drilled four triples and added 17 points and eight rebounds. Siena Smith and Matalina Ochoa each chipped in 15 points, while Lily Miller added 12 of her own. Dearborn shot 50.8% from the field (33-of-65) and 9-of-23 from three (39.1%).

Lourdes Leaders

Grace Ryan and Mercedes Wagner led the Grey Wolves with 19 points, while Zaria Bridgewater scored 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting. Emma Pedroza rounded out the scoring with 10 points on four made field goals. Lourdes shot 22-of-30 from the charity stripe, which became the deciding factor in the contest. 

Inside the Game 

Lourdes opened the contest on a 17-4 run. With 3:09 left in the first quarter, Smith connected on a triple after swiping the ball from the Grey Wolves ball handler. Dearborn closed the deficit and ended the first quarter down eight. 

Fullerton got Dearborn within five as she hit a triple 32 seconds into the second quarter. Dearborn would cap off a 15-1 run to start the quarter after Smith hit another trifecta with 6:17 remaining in the opening half. Lourdes would knot the contest up at 37 with 45 seconds remaining before ending the half on a 4-0 run in the final 45 seconds. 

Lourdes took a commanding 60-49 lead before Briana Hurt and Ochoa scored a pair of baskets to get Dearborn back within seven. Grissom connected on a deep triple with time running down in the third quarter to make it 68-60 Lourdes. 

Dearborn would get within five but not make it any closer, finishing in the 91-86 loss.
