Shorthanded Wolverines Lose at Rochester

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (6-16, 3-11) women's basketball team found themselves shorthanded on Thursday (Jan. 26) night at Garth Pleasant Arena. Dearborn had just seven players available against one of the top teams in the WHAC. The Rochester Warriors (14-8, 12-2) took care of the Wolverines by a final score of 92-49. 

 

UM-Dearborn Leaders

India Grissom led the Wolverines with 17 points and shot 9-14 in her trips to the charity stripe. Lily Miller recorded a double-double scoring 11 points and bringing down 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Elzien Zomer tallied three steals, while Briana Hurt was effective on the glass with six rebounds.

 

Rochester Leaders

The Warriors finished with four girls in double figures. Celeste Mershimer led the way with 22 points off the bench, shooting 6-11 from the field and 4-6 from behind the arc. Dakotah Krohn finished with 15 points on 5-10 shooting, and Cianna Gloster and Ella Burger rounded out the scoring with 10 a piece. ChiAnne Gloster had 10 rebounds to lead the Warriors. 

 

Up Next

The Wolverines will take on Siena Heights on Saturday (Jan. 28) at home. Tip-off is slated for 1:00 pm.
