FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team held a four-point lead over No. 20 Indiana Tech midway through the second quarter, but the Warriors caught fire from deep late in the first half and ran away with a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Wednesday in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Wolverines were led by Jeorgia Jones (FR/Detroit, MI) early, who scored 11 points in the first half, pushing UM-Dearborn ahead. The Warriors took over late in the second quarter, closing the half on a 14-0 run, bolstered by four 3-pointers. Indiana Tech continued its hot shooting after the break, starting the second half on a 13-3 run to pull away for an 81-46 win.

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 5-19 overall and 2-14 in the WHAC.

Jones had her best game since returning to the starting lineup, scoring a team-high 16 points on 6-of-14 shootings, while grabbing five rebounds and adding four assists. Natalie Spala (SO/Livonia, MI) scored eight points, while Kendall Rose (SO/Canton, MI) added seven points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.

The Wolverines shot 18-of-56 from the field, 0-of-13 from behind the 3-point line, and 10-of-11 from the free-throw line, while outrebounding the Warriors 38-32. UM-Dearborn struggled with possession finishing with 13 assists and 27 turnovers.

Haley Cook scored a game-high 20 points for the Warriors, including five 3-pointers. Taylor Seiss and Baylee Rinehart each added 14 points, as Indiana Tech hit 16 shots from 3-point range as a team.

The Wolverines return home after three-straight road games to take on Lawrence Tech at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
