WBB Weekly Report: Two Road Games On Deck

DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team looks to build on its second conference win of the season with a pair of road contests this week. The Wolverines travel to No. 6 Davenport University on Wednesday and are at Siena Heights University on Saturday.

Team Update

The Wolverines are coming off one of their most impressive games of the season, topping Lourdes University 70-56 on a day of celebration at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. With the dedication of the new hardwood floor surrounding the contest and in front of one of the largest crowds in recent memory, the Wolverines put together one of their best shooting performances of the season, hitting 49 percent of their shots from the field and passing the ball extremely efficiently. UM-Dearborn closed the game with 24 assists as a team, as four Wolverines scored in double figures.

With the Wolverines down eight after the first quarter against Lourdes, Jeorgia Jones (FR/Detroit, MI) came off the bench to provide a spark. She guided UM-Dearborn back with eight first-half points as the Wolverines led by one at the break. With the game tied heading to the fourth, Jones, who finished with a team-high 15 points, and the rest of her team took over, outscoring the Gray Wolves 23-9 in the final frame. Jones is averaging 8.3 points per game, while hitting 81 percent of her free throws and grabbing four rebounds per.

History

The Wolverines dropped a home contest to Davenport, which was ranked No. 8 at the time, 75-54. The Panthers come into this week's contest ranked No. 6. DU is 18-2 overall and 12-0 in the WHAC.

Siena Heights prevailed in overtime 67-59 when the two teams faced off earlier this season in Dearborn.
