DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team heads to No. 20 Indiana Tech for the team's only game this week at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Team Update

The Wolverines are looking to rebound after a pair of losses on the road last week. After hanging right with the No. 6 Davenport University Panthers before the halftime break last Wednesday, UM-Dearborn faltered in the second half, falling 80-48 in Grand Rapids. Meredith Williams (JR/Novi, Mich.) and Megan Swick (JR/Grosse Ile, Mich.) led the Wolverines with 13 points each in the loss. The Wolverines once again played right with a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent on the road in the first half at Siena Heights University over the weekend, but SHU pulled away in the final 20 minutes to top UM-Dearborn 63-39. Kendall Rose (SO/Canton, MI) scored a team-high eight points against the Saints.

Who's Hot

Emily Heinrich (SO/South Lyon, MI) leads the Wolverines in scoring this season, averaging 8.8 points per contest, while grabbing a team-high 5.7 rebounds. Heinrich has scored in double figures in nine games this season, including a high of 17 points in a win over Concordia University before the holiday break. Heading into this week, the Wolverines rank 19th in the nation in total steals with 224 and 23rd in total assists with 316.

History

Indiana Tech is having a strong season, sitting in second place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. The Warriors topped the Wolverines 71-30 in November and swept UM-Dearborn in 2015-16.
