Wolverines push win-streak to five, take down Lourdes on the road

SYLVANIA, Ohio.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team returned to action against the Lourdes University Gray Wolves Saturday afternoon in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup in Sylvania, Ohio.

The Wolverines were in an early hole finding themselves down 11 points after the first quarter. However, UM-Dearborn would outscore the Gray Wolves by 18 in the second, taking a seven-point lead into the half. Lourdes University would push late in the fourth quarter, however, the early lead established by the Wolverines was enough for them to earn the 65-60 win.

The victory moves UM-Dearborn to 11-16 overall and 9-9 in the WHAC. The Wolverines are currently tied for sixth place in the standings with two games remaining in the regular season.

UM-Dearborn was led by the trio of Cydney Williams (16 points, seven rebounds, six steals), Mariah Taylor (15 points, five rebounds), and Maricela Macias (10 points, three rebounds, three assists). Maya Barakat would add nine points and 10 rebounds, while Ro'Zhane Wells would add eight points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.

The Wolverines return to action against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils at 5:30 PM at the Don Ridler Fieldhouse in Southfield, Mich.
