LIVONIA, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team returned to action against the Madonna University Crusaders Wednesday night in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup.
The Wolverines would find themselves down four after the first quarter, but would build a big lead before halftime and wouldn't look back, holding off the Saints for a 60-50 victory.
Leading UM-Dearborn was Cydney Williams with 20 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Mariah Taylor would add 16 points and eight rebounds, while Siena Smith and Ro'Zhane Wells both reached double-digits with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The win improves the Wolverines to 7-16 overall and 5-9 in the WHAC and currently hold the eighth seed in the conference standings.
UM-Dearborn returns to action against the Aquinas College Saints at 1 PM Saturday at Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center in Grand Rapids, Mich.
