Wolverines stay hot against Cornerstone, extends winning streak to four

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team returned to action against the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles Wednesday night in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Wolverines found themselves down four heading into the fourth quarter, but would claw back using a 7-1 run to close out the game, earning the 65-57 victory over Cornerstone University.

The win improves UM-Dearborn to 10-16 overall and 8-9 in the WHAC, where it currently sits in the 7th seed for the conference tournament.

Four Wolverine starters would reach double-digits in scoring, led by Maricela Macias with 19 points.

Cydney Williams would add 14 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double, putting her over 500 rebounds for her collegiate career. Siena Smith and Ro'Zhane Wells would add 13 points and 12 points, respectively.

The Golden Eagles were led by Olivia Kubik with 11 points.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against the Lourdes University Gray Wolves at 1 PM Saturday in Sylvania, Ohio.
