Wolverines use big fourth quarter to pull away from Saints

ADRIAN, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team returned to action against the Siena Heights University Saints Saturday afternoon in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup in Adrian, Mich.

The Wolverines and Saints went back and forth in the first quarter, however UM-Dearborn would close it out on a 10-1 run, as well as outscoring Siena Heights by four in the second quarter, extending their lead to eight at halftime. The Saints would tighten up on defense in the third quarter and would find themselves tied heading into the final quarter. However, the Wolverines offense caught fire, using a 14-0 run on their way to a 69-57 victory over Siena Heights.

The win moves UM-Dearborn to 9-16 overall and 7-9 in the WHAC.

Cydney Williams led the way for the Wolverines with 23 points, six rebounds, and five steals. Ro'Zhane Wells would add 14 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Mariah Taylor and Maricela Macias would chip in with 9 points and 8 points, respectively.

Leading for the Saints was Peyton Banks with 14 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles at 5:30 PM Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
