Dearborn, MI - The men's basketball team snapped their two game losing streak with a 73-71 victory over the Siena Heights University Saints on Saturday. Michigan-Dearborn (13-13, 8-10) grabbed 12 offensive rebounds in the first half and held the Saints to 33% shooting in the first half. Siena Heights (9-17, 5-13) led the majority of the first half but could not build a lead larger than five points. With just over four minutes left in the first half, Siena Heights led by four points, but the Wolverines finished the half strong outscoring the Saints 16-6 to take a 29-23 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Michigan-Dearborn continued to build on their lead. Freshman Deonte Bell's three-pointer with 13:34 left in the game gave the Wolverines a 13 point lead. Siena Heights would go on a 10-0 run to pull within three points. Michigan-Dearborn responded well building the lead back to 13 points with just over five minutes remaining. The game was far from over as the Saints cut the lead to four points with 46 seconds left. Junior Marcus Williams would make 7 of 8 free throws down the stretch, and sophomore Ali Farhat's two free throws with just seconds remaining sealed the 73-71 win for the Wolverines.

Williams led all scorers with 31 points on 11 for 12 shooting. Farhat added 13 points and senior Paul Standtke grabbed 11 rebounds, including 7 offensive rebounds. The men's basketball team will next host the Madonna University Crusaders on Wednesday night at 7:30pm.
