Penn's Double-Double Leads Men's Basketball to Win over Wilberforce

Dearborn, MI - The Men's Basketball team came out with an impressive win over Wilberforce University Thursday night. Wilberforce came into the contest against the Wolverines with a record of 7-5 against the Wolverines with a record of 5-6.

The Wolverines struggled in the first half of the game, having the lead for only brief moments of the first half and finishing with a three point deficit 32-29. Head Coach Taylor Langley said something in the locker room that hit home to the team because the Wolverines turned a three point deficit into a nine point lead within the first three and a half minutes of the second half. Thanks to the combined efforts of Jason Penn with a double-double, 10 rebounds and 16 points, Paul Standtke with 11 rebounds, Xavier Crofford with 14 points, and Marcus Williams with 12 points the Wolverines were able to end their six-game losing streak. Michigan-Dearborn outrebounded Wilberforce 52-39 en route to winning 72-63. The men's basketball team next plays Siena Heights on Saturday in Adrian at 5:30pm.
