Men's Basketball Falls to Cornerstone

Grand Rapids, MI - The men's basketball team traveled to Grand Rapids to take on the 13th ranked Cornerstone Golden Eagles on Saturday. Michigan-Dearborn (12-12, 7-9) battled throughout the first half as neither team could build a lead larger than four points until late in the first half. After freshman Xavier Crofford sank a three-pointer to tie the game at 35, Cornerstone (18-5, 13-3) finished the first half on an 8-0 run to lead 43-35.

Cornerstone started the second half just how they finished the first half on an 8-0 run. The Golden Eagles quickly turned an 8 point lead into a 16 point lead. The 16 point deficit proved to be too much for the Wolverines as they could not get any closer than 13 points as Cornerstone would win 79-66. Junior Marcus Williams and freshman Alex Hagel each scored 16 points for Michigan-Dearborn while Crofford chipped in with 11 points. The men's basketball team will next take on the # 1 ranked Davenport University Panthers on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
