Men's Basketball Takes First Loss of the Season

Mishawaka, IN - The men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season Friday night falling the 22nd ranked Bethel College Pilots 81-72. Michigan-Dearborn (3-1) came out strong building an 11 point lead near the midway point of the first half, but Bethel would respond finishing the half on a 36-17 run to take a 47-39 lead at halftime.

After both teams shot the ball well in the first half, defense took over in the second half. The Wolverines limited the Pilots to just 31% shooting in the second half, but they could not overcome the 8 point halftime deficit. Xavier Crofford had an outstanding game for Michigan-Dearborn. The freshman went 11 for 16 from the field, including going 5 for 8 from beyond the three-point arc, to lead the Wolverines with 31 points. Junior Marcus Williams added 21 poionts. The men's basketball team finishes their trip to Mishawaka by taking on Goshen College Saturday at 1:00pm.
