Comeback Falls Short for Men's Basketball

Dearborn, MI - The men's basketball team hosted the 3rd ranked Davenport University Panthers Wednesday night. Davenport (5-0, 3-0) used great shooting and sound defense to build a 19 point lead in the first half. The Panthers shot 51% and held the Wolverines to 36% shooting in the first half. Michigan-Dearborn (4-3, 1-1) fell behind early, 18-6, and could not recover.

The second half saw Davenport open up a 26 point lead just one minute into the half. Michigan-Dearborn would fight back and gradually cut the deficit down getting it under 10 points with just under 9 minutes remaining. The Panthers would respond building the lead back to 16 points with three minutes left. A late surge by the Wolverines would fall short as Davenport would win 85-78.

Junior Marcus Williams led Michigan-Dearborn with 25 points while freshman Xavier Crofford added 19 points. The men's basketball team will travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana to take on the Indiana Tech Warriors on Saturday at 3:00pm.
