Saints March Away With a Victory

Dearborn, MI- Men's basketball takes a 66-74 loss against Aquinas College. Throughout the game, the lead changed seven times but never resulted in tie. In the second half the Wolverines outscored the Saints but couldn't find a way to finish the game. As a team the Wolverines shot 50% from behind the arch and 100% from the free throw line. Michigan's leaders were Brandon Cole with 17pts and Patrick Hebda with 12pts from behind the three point line.

Michigan began the half on top but quickly allowed Aquinas to fight right back to take the lead. After five minutes of play the Wolverines found themselves trailing by 5pts. It didn't take long for the Wolverines to flip that lead of 5pts by shooting 8/14. With 3:18 left in the half the Wolverines lost the lead once again and for the remaining of the half. Both teams entered the locker room with a score of 29-38. Michigan shot 100% from the free throw line. Patrick Hebda led the Wolverines with 12pts by going 4/4 from the three point line.

Aquinas returned from the half with some energy that overpowered the Wolverines. As time diminished off the clock Aquinas continued to accumulate points and hold the Wolverines to minimal points. With six minutes left in the game Aquinas had a 20point lead but the Wolverines never gave up. Michigan continued to work hard to close the large gap and finished the game trailing by 8 points.

This Saturday men's basketball will compete against Lourdes University with the home court advantage at 5:30pm.
