Volleyball drops four-set match at Concordia

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team continued Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play against Concordia University Friday at the CUAA Fieldhouse.

After dropping the first set, the Wolverines came back to defeat the Cardinals in the second to tie it up before falling in four. The set scores were 25-21, 16-25, 25-17, 25-23.

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 5-22 overall and 2-16 in the WHAC.

Offensively, the Wolverines were led by Gina Giacomini with 15 kills, while Erin Parrinello and Mackenzie Zook added 11 and 10, respectively. On defense, the Wolverines recorded three blocks with Katherine Nealy and Parrinello finishing with two block assists each. Caitlyn Carlson recorded 26 digs to lead the defense.

The Wolverines will conclude their season next week with two games on the road, returning to action against Aquinas College at 7 pm Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
