Blue Devils top volleyball in three

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team continued conference play against Lawrence Tech in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines were defeated in three sets with the Blue Devils taking the first two by an identical 25-18 score before closing it out 25-19 in the third. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 4-17 overall and 1-11 in the WHAC.

Leading the way offensively for the Wolverines were Bronte Michura and Gina Giacomini with nine kills each, while Erin Parrinello added seven. Sabrina Giacomini and Daniella Barile recorded 16 and 15 assists, respectively.

On defense, Katherine Nealy recorded one solo block to bring her season total to 18, good for second in the WHAC. Caitlyn Carlson led the Wolverines with 16 digs.

The Wolverines return to action as they take on Rochester College at 7 pm Saturday in a WHAC matchup at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
