Wolverines Fall in Three Sets at LTU

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team opened its 2018 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference schedule against Lawrence Tech on Wednesday in Southfield, Mich. Despite starting the game strong, the Wolverines fell in three sets to the Blue Devils.

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 3-7 on the season and 0-1 in the WHAC.

The Wolverines got off to a good start in the first set, scoring the first four points of the match and leading 18-17 late. LTU rallied back to take the first set 25-23. In the second set, UM-Dearborn trailed by as many as nine points but the comeback fell short as the Blue Devils closed out the set 25-23. LTU took control in the final set, winning 25-6.

Bronte Michura led the Wolverines offensively with nine kills, while Daniella Barile added nine assists. Senior Libero Caitlyn Carlson recorded 13 digs.

The Wolverines return to action next week as they take on Siena Heights University in a WHAC matchup at 7 PM at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse in Dearborn, Mich.
