Wolverines Split Two in Georgia

 MARIETTA, Ga. – On the second day of the 2018 Running Eagle Classic, the University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team came away with its third victory of the season against Tennessee Wesleyan University before falling to host Life University on Friday in Marietta, Ga.

The Wolverines swept TWU 25-23, 25-14, 25-17 for its second straight three-set win. Senior Erin Parrinello continued her strong start to the season, leading the way with six kills while Bronte Michura and Mackenzie Zook each added four.

Senior Libero Caitlyn Carlson recorded a team-high 13 digs to lead the Wolverine defense.

In the second match, the Wolverines continued its strong play early, winning the first set before dropping the next three. The set scores were 25-22, 16-25, 18-25, 15-25.

Sophomore Gina Giacomini topped the Wolverines offensively with nine kills. Michura recorded seven kills and led the way with a .235 hitting percentage. The Wolverines finished with four blocks, with Giacomini pitching recording two solo blocks.

The Wolverines finish play at the Running Eagle Classic against Reinhardt University at 9 am Saturday. The final game of the weekend for the Wolverines will follow against College of Coastal Georgia at 3 pm.
