Wolverines Rally Falls Short Against Aquinas

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team's comeback fell short in the fourth set against Aquinas College on Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse. After dropping the first two sets, the Wolverines took the third and held a 6-1 lead early in the fourth before falling to the Saints in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup. 

The set scores were 25-12, 25-16, 22-25, 25-16 as UM-Dearborn falls to 3-14 overall and 0-8 in the WHAC.

After the Saints took control of the first two sets, the Wolverines rallied midway through the third, scoring eight of the final nine points to force the fourth set where they had six of the first seven points. Sabrina Giacomini led the rally, scoring two consecutive crucial service aces to tie the score and give the Wolverines the lead late in the third.

Erin Parrinello had a strong night, leading the Wolverines with 12 kills, while adding 12 digs. Daniella Barile also recorded 12 digs and 12 assists, while Giacomini pitched in with 13 assists. Caitlyn Carlson recorded a team-high 17 digs.

The Wolverines return to action in the UM-Dearborn SAAC Game of the Week against WHAC rival Concordia University at 7 pm Friday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
