Wolverines earn two big road wins over the weekend

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's ice hockey team returned to action with a pair of road games against Grand Valley State University on Friday and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor on Saturday.

On Friday, the Wolverines relied on a three-goal first period, holding on for a 3-2 win over the Lakers in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Kaylee Keledjian would open up the scoring with an unassisted effort at the midway point of the first. Odisoula Argyris would extend the lead just 27 second later with assists going to Claudia Maguire and Isabella Welke. Maguire would add a short-handed tally, with the assist going to Argyris, giving UM-Dearborn the eventual game-winner.

Tara Peladeau would get the start in goal for the Wolverines, making 21 saves in the winning effort. 

On Saturday, the line of Argyris (5 A), Maguire (3 G, 4A), and Clare Murphy (3 G) would drive the offense for UM-Dearborn, tallying 15 points on the night, as the Wolverines handled UM-Ann Arbor, 7-3. The two wins moves UM-Dearborn to 3-3-1 on the season. 

Kaylee Keledjian would also add a goal, while Victoria Hahn would get the win in goal, making 25 saves for the Wolverines.

UM-Dearborn returns to action with a three-game stretch, starting against the Concordia University Cardinals at 7pm at the Arctic Coliseum in Chelsea, Mich., followed up by two games against Minot State University at 7pm Saturday and 12pm Sunday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse in Dearborn, Mich.
