Wolverines sweep season series with Concordia, win 4-0

CHELSEA, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's hockey team returned to action with a road contest against the Concordia University Cardinals Friday night at the Arctic Coliseum in Chelsea, Mich.

The Wolverine offense would strike twice in both the first and third periods, while goaltender Victoria Hahn would post her third shutout of the season as UM-Dearborn would earn for the 4-0 victory over Concordia University.

Riley Vandenheuvel would open the scoring just 20 seconds into the game with assists going to Brooke Spiegel and Isabella Welke. Clare Murphy would connect with four minutes to play in the first with Odisoula Argyris credited for the assist.

After a scoreless second period, the Wolverines would once again add a goal in the opening seconds of a period as Kaylee Keledjian would find the back of the net with Clare Murphy and Argyris getting the assists. Erin Murphy would ice the game with six minutes remaining as she connected on an unassisted effort putting the game out of reach for the Cardnials.

The win moves UM-Dearborn to 11-6-2 overall and 6-5-2 in conference play.

Hahn got the shutout and the win, while making 26 saves in the game.

The Wolverines return to action on Senior Night against the Michigan State Spartans at 7 PM Friday night at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse in Dearborn, Mich.
