Cole Continues Strong Season in 1-0 Victory over Saint Francis (Ind.)

FORT WAYNE, Ind.Christian Cole's first-half goal helped the University of Michigan-Dearborn (3-2-1) men's soccer team to a victory over Saint Francis (Ind.) (6-2-1). The 1-0 victory was the Wolverine's first clean sheet of the 2022 season.

Cole wasted no time getting the Wolverines in front as he scored one of Dearborn's five shots in the first half. Cole's breakout season continues as his goal in the 14th minute marks his fifth of the season for the Maize & Blue.

The Wolverine backline was outstanding on the afternoon, limiting the opponent's chances in the attacking third. Elijah Burlak was tested just once in the opening half and stopped it with ease as the Wolverines head into the break with the 1-0 lead.

Saint Francis came out looking for an equalizer in the second half, but again the Maize & Blue held strong, thanks partly to five second-half saves from Burlak. The West Bloomfield native collected his first clean sheet on the season and a crucial three points for the Wolverines heading into their final non-conference matchup.
