Preview: Grace College

DEARBORN, Mich.-- After reaching the WHAC tournament in 2021, the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team looks to improve upon last season as they begin a new chapter on Saturday (Aug 20) against Grace College. The Wolverines head to Winona Lake, Ind., to take on the Lancers inside 1st Source Bank Field, with kick-off slated for 1:30.

 

Recapping 2021

UM-Dearborn won their final two games of the regular season against Rochester and Madonna to clinch a birth in the WHAC tournament. The Wolverines ended the 2021 campaign with a 5-11-1 record and a 4-5-1 record in WHAC play. 

 

Returning Wolverines

The leading scorer for the Wolverines returns for the 2022 season as Austin Dukes returns for his senior year. Dukes tallied one goal and four assists to lead the Wolverines in points. Christian Cole, Andrew Schwartz, and Nicolas Pulcini all return to the Wolverine starting xi after tallying four points a piece in 2021. 

 

Scouting the Lancers

The Lancers return their top goal scorer from a 12-11-1 season in 2021. Martim Sequeira led all Lancer goal scorers with 15 in 2021. Matteo Conci remains in goal for Grace as he started all 24 competitions last season for the Lancers.
