Fast Start Not Enough in Loss Against Grace

WINONA LAKE, Ind.-- The University of Michigan-Dearborn (0-1-0) men's soccer team opened up their season on Saturday (Aug 20) against Grace College (1-0-0) at 1st Source Bank Field. Unfortunately, a solid first half was not enough for the Wolverines as they fell by a final score of 4-1.

Inside the First Half

The Wolverines kept the Lancers on their heels early, working the opponent's final third in the game's opening minutes. UM-Dearborn found themselves at the corner flag in the third minute after earning a corner kick. With a beautifully weighted ball falling to the foot of Christian Cole, he calmly slotted the ball past the Lancer keeper and gave the Wolverines the 1-0 lead.

The Lancer equalized right before the half as both teams head into the locker room tied at one.

Inside the Second Half

The Lancers pulled away in the second half utilizing three second-half goals to create an insurmountable comeback for the Maize & Blue.
