Pulcini Late Goal Leads to Draw Against Taylor

DEARBORN, Mich.-- Nicolas Pulcini's 80th-minute equalizer helped the University of Michigan-Dearborn (2-2-1) men's soccer team to a crucial point against Taylor University (2-3-3) on Wednesday (Sept 14).

Neither team could push anything across in the first half, thanks to a crucial save from Elijah Burlak to keep the score deadlocked heading into the break. However, the Trojans were the first to break the scoreless drought when Andrew Siegelin was able to beat Burlak and give the Trojans the lead in the 65th minute. Burlak made three other saves in the half to keep the Trojans to just one goal.

Burlak's effort in the net proved important when Nicolas Pulcini found the ball deflected onto his foot and deposited it past the Trojan keeper to equalize the contest in the 80th minute. Neither team could break the tie before the clock hit zero, seeing both teams leave with a point.
