DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball team solidified the front end of its pitching rotation with the signing of Eastern Michigan University transfer pitcher Tyler Koons on Tuesday.

Koons will make an immediate impact in the Wolverine pitching rotation, which returns all of its starters from the program's second season. The Flat Rock, Mich., native pitched in 12 games for the Eagles, an NCAA Division I program, last season, including four starts.

Prior to joining EMU, Koons was a standout for Gibraltar Carlson High School, pitching 70 innings as a senior with 82 strikeouts and allowing only three walks.
