DETROIT – After surrendering nine runs in the first inning, the University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball team put together a furious rally against NCAA Division II foe Wayne State University Wednesday at Harwell Field in Detroit.

The Warriors led 9-1 after the first, but UM-Dearborn scored eight unanswered runs to tie the score at nine in the top of the sixth. The teams traded runs until the game was tied 11-11 in the eighth. An RBI single from Patrick Downing evened the score later in the sixth before WSU regained the lead with a home run in the bottom of the inning. The Wolverines tied the score again with RBIs from Tanner Hodges and Lemon Jr. before the Warriors secured the win in the bottom of the eighth.
