Wolverine rally falls short at Spring Arbor

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball team rallied after falling behind early to Spring Arbor University in a nonconference contest Thursday in Spring Arbor, Mich.

The Wolverines trailed 9-0 after the third, but UM-Dearborn scored four in the fourth and two in the sixth to climb back into the game. Down four heading to the ninth, the Wolverines scored twice but were unable to even the score, falling to the Cougars 10-8.

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 15-17-1 overall this season.

Shaun Hannibal led the Wolverine lineup with five hits, including a double, while adding four RBIs. Daniel Kerr added two hits, while Patrick Downing recorded a double and a run scored.

Robert Begley got the start on the mound for the Wolverines, taking the loss.

UM-Dearborn returns to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play against the University of Northwestern Ohio in a doubleheader starting at 1 pm Saturday in Lima, Ohio.
